The typical workshop schedule is two, four OR six hours and may include the sacrament of daily living, worship, reflection queries, worship sharing, healing, and spiritual friendship. Available upon request.

Trauma Recovery Workshops

Are being designed based on the work of the African Great Lakes Initiative with a consideration of designing two as “AVP Special Topic Workshops” (see below) that can be used internationally with a peer-counseling type accompaniment. You may ask to be on the list to receive information once it’s ready.

Spiritual Practice Workshop

Typical workshop schedule is two, four OR six hours and may include advices and testimonies, clearness groups, daily devotions, friendly scripture study, tests of discernment and meeting for business in a faith community. Available upon request.

Conscience Workshop

Typical workshop schedule is two, four OR six hours and may include listening to conscience, writing statements of conscience, establishing a conscientious objection to war file, preparing for a review board and bearing witness to one’s conscience. Available upon request.

Service, Witness and Publishing Truth Workshop

Typical workshop schedule is two, four OR six hours and may include spiritual journaling, bearing witness to one’s faith, service and publishing our truth. Available upon request.

Alternatives to Violence Workshops

Typical workshop schedules are 18 – 22 hours each: Friday 6pm - 10pm; Saturday 8:30am - 10:00pm; and Sunday 8:30am - 10:30am. These are intensive workshops based on activities focused on skills in friendship, affirmation, communication, cooperation and conflict resolution, but the way the activities are put together are transforming through building community and trust, exploring transforming power and opening up and changing ourselves. Any questions not addressed by the workshop will be addressed at the end. It is an opportunity for those committed to nonviolence to practice nonviolence in our daily lives.

Alternatives to Violence Special Topics Workshop offers opportunities for AVP folks to explore a selected topic in more depth.

Alternative to Violence Training for Trainers Workshop offers an opportunity for AVP folks to practice facilitating and prepare to apprentice facilitate basic workshops and subsequently advanced workshops.

Alternatives to Violence Facilitators Certification is only offered by an AVP facilitator to apprentices who mutually concur they are ready to lead teams in offering AVP workshops and to undertake facilitating trainings for trainers.
